Certain Days: Freedom for Political Prisoners http://www.certaindays.org/
Are prisoners allowed political news papers to read?
yes
Sometimes, it depends on paper and what kind of day the censor is having. It also has to be an approved publisher/distributor.

Hi, Ian here, with ‘Books 4 Incarcerated Mississippians’ . We are currently in the process of starting a prison books chapter in the magnolia state and i wanted to ask a few questions. 1. Does anyone know of a pre-existing non-profit’s 501(c)3 (preferably in the south) that we could use as an umbrella for our own prison books chapter, rather than paying a $50 fee and possibly being denied by the IRS our own 501(c)3? 2. Could anyone provide us with any information or an avenue to obtain the information about specific guidelines and regulations for individual prisons in the state of Mississippi? i.e. rules of correspondence, prison libraries, requirements that must be met in order to start a book club on the inside, and any specifics about working with juvenile detention centers and their set of rules and regulations would be much appreciated.
